Juicy seasoned beef patties topped with crispy bacon and melted gouda cheese, all cooked in the air fryer for a healthier take on the classic burger.

Ingredients

  • 500 g regular minced beef
  • 100 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp sea salt flakes
  • 4 middle slices of bacon
  • Olive oil spray
  • 4 slices gouda cheese
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 60 g canned beetroot
  • 60 g sliced gherkins
  • 60 g mayonnaise
  • 60 g ketchup
  • 60 g yellow mustard

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 180C (350F).
  2. Combine the beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and salt in a bowl. Shape into four patties.
  3. Cook the bacon in the air fryer for 6-8 minutes until crisp, then set aside.
  4. Spray the patties with oil and air fry for 8-10 minutes.
  5. Top each patty with a slice of gouda and a piece of bacon, then cook for 1 more minute to melt the cheese.
  6. Toast the brioche buns in the air fryer for 2 minutes.
  7. Assemble the burgers with tomato, onion, beetroot, pickles, and your choice of sauces.

Tips

  • Uncooked patties can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for 2 months.
  • Cooked patties keep in the fridge for 3 days and reheat well in the microwave.
